John Neville (May 2nd 1929-November 11th 2011)
In a career spanning six decades John Neville was a star in the British theater (with Judi Dench in Hamlet), Sherlock Holmes in A Study In Terror, General Staedert in The Fifth Element, the acerbic butler Desmond in the TV series Grand, The Well Manicured Man in The X-Files, was directed by David Cronenberg in Spider, and starred as Hieronymus Karl Frederick Baron von Munchausen in Terry Gilliam’s The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen. His death was announced by the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada, where Mr. Neville was the artistic director from 1986 to 1989 and was credited with restoring it to financial and artistic stability. The cause was Alzheimer’s disease, he was 86.
